Instructions for Use:
Add one teaspoonful of SinuAir® formulated saline powder or non iodized salt to the irrigator basin to get the correct concentration (non iodized salt is preferred because some people are sensitive to iodine). Fill the basin with warm water, about 16 ounces or 500 cc. Attach the nasal irrigator tip. Turn on and adjust the pressure so that if you point the irrigator straight up in the air, the stream is about one inch high. Hold the handle by the end, this acts like a lever. Place in one nostril, bend over the sink, and turn the device on. The saline goes through one nasal chamber and out the other. After about a minute, switch sides. Use about 1/3 of the basin, or until the saline return is clear.
The device is designed not to work if the nose is completely obstructed. The saline goes through the sinuses and removes purulence and bacteria. The pulsation restores cilia to normal. Rinse the machine thoroughly to remove the salt after use. For most nasal and sinus conditions daily irrigation in this manner for 10 days will restore the cilia to good function.
Sometimes asthma is caused or aggravated by pus in the nose so using the irrigator to remove nasal sinus purulence is good medicine. Now that so many bacteria have become antibiotic resistant, using the pulsating irrigation early in an infection can help prevent the need for antibiotics.
Notes: In cases where cilia are absent or non-functional as in cystic fibrosis, the irrigation tends to act as a substitute for normal cilia.
Benefits of Pulsating Irrigation:
- Washing with saline removes certain virus products, making less work for the body's natural immune and disease fighting systems.
- With a cold, the mucus of the nose thickens. This impairs the nasal cilia movement that is needed for health. With irrigation, the thick mucus is removed and is replaced by thin saline. This allows the cilia to move again to defend the body.
- Pulsation moves the cilia back and forth, which helps restore normal movement of the cilia.
- Warm saline encourages blood flow to the sinus and nasal passage linings.
- Saline is good for the nose; it keeps the nasal and sinus tissues moist and helps the nose to heal.
- Anyone can irrigate their own sinuses. With the Original Sinus Irrigator® you don't need any special training. We even have 5 year old kids doing it all by themselves!
By crow-barring out the bacteria, the body has its best chance of overcoming infection without antibiotics. The unique triple edge action of the tongue cleaner element effectively removes and rinses away bacteria and food particles from the back of the tongue other products can not reach or effectively remove. Use at onset of throat symptoms. It is especially recommended to use the throat irrigator at the earliest onset of a sore throat for best results and to prevent spread of the sore throat to other members of the family.

Instructions for Use
Add saline, diluted Listerine, or your favorite mouthwash to the irrigator basin. The throat tip has a contoured design to rest on the tongue comfortably. Lay the tip straight back on the left side of the tongue and direct it just behind the last tooth. The irrigation stream will wash the left tonsil or side of the throat, come around and wash the other side. Gently pull tongue cleaner/scrapper back and forth to remove and rinse away bacteria and food particles.
Turn the tip over and place on the right side of the tongue and direct it just behind the last tooth. About 30 seconds on each side should be enough. Always begin with the device at the lowest pressure setting. The 45 degree angle of the irrigation tip and tongue cleaner element which acts as a tongue depressor is designed to prevent reflex gagging.
Benefits of Pulsatile Irrigation:
- Soothing drug free relief for sore throat irritation, infection, and chronic hoarseness
- Relieves pain and encourages healing to the infected areas
- Reduces spread of infection
- Safer and more effective than gargling
- Great for fresh breath control....Too!
The SinuMist tip is designed to be used at the low pressure range of the SinuPulse Elite irrigator. The SinuMist Tip is limited for use with the SinuPulse Elite irrigator only and must not be used with any other irrigator or appliance. Turn on the unit with the pressure set at low and adjust the pressure to a comfortable mist spray Place in one nostril, bend over the sink, and turn the device on. The saline mist spray will slowly moisturize and fill the nasal chamber. After about 20-30 seconds, switch sides. Due to the small particle size of the SinuMist tip much less saline or rinse solution is required. The SinuMist tip is not designed for general cleansing - for that purpose the SinuPulse Standard Sinus Irrigator Tip (Model SPST) should be used. The SinuPulse tips are designed not to work if the nose is completely obstructed.
Benefits of Pulsating Irrigation with SinuMist® Tip:
- Soothe and moisturize irritated nasal passages
- Deliver targeted rinses and doctor recommended solutions to the source.
- Excellent for use with doctor recommended solutions after use with the standard pulsating cleansing tip for a 1-2 punch.
